Linda and David Hanon among the ginger plants at the bottom of
Waiholoa Falls. This is the lower of a double falls with
each falls
being about a 60 foot drop. In the spirit of Scenic Adventures
this
falls is little known even by the locals on the Big Island of
Hawaii.
We were guided there by our friends Sandra and Terry Teets who
make their home on the Big Island. This was their third attempt to
find the falls. It was a three mile hike from the end of a four
wheel
drive road in the Kohala Mountains. The trail is bordered by a
variety
of ginger and wild orchids.
